Year 7 Learn To Swim

Water safety and learning to swim are essential life skills. At Colyton High School we are encouraging the participation of all Year 7 students in a Swimming Program. This program concentrates on building confidence in the water, developing and maintaining swimming strokes and teaching safety skills in and around the water. These survival and swimming skills will set the foundation that is necessary for your child to build solid and sound aquatic skills and enhance their knowledge of safe play in the water.

Students will participate in a swimming program which will occur during Term 4, 2019. The Swim School Program will be held at Ripples Leisure Centre, St Marys. The program will be across three consecutive days from Wednesday 11th December – Friday 13th December, 2019.

The swim school will involve all students being taught by qualified instructors and trained Colyton High School teachers. The program will cater for a diverse range of swimming abilities with beginner, advanced techniques, water safety and survival skills being taught across the intensive program.

At the conclusion of the program students will be presented with participation certificates to recognise their achievement and individual ability.

Please note: Year 7 timetabled classes will not be running on the scheduled days of the Swim School and
alternate activities will be organised for those remaining students at school. However, we encourage all year 7 to attend this valuable program.
